Bio

My name is Christine Benson.

I am a British Association for Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) Exercise Instructor, a Referral for Exercise Instructor and a Level 4 Registered Exercise Professional in The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) Level 4.

I have more than 20 years experience in the field of teaching exercise to people after they have had a cardiac event including angina, a heart attack, insertion of stents, and cardiac surgery.

I am also a Registered Nurse and worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge between 2003 and 2015. I currently work three days per week at Nuffield Hospital Cambridge some of which is in Cardiology.

I keep as active as I can. I cycle to work (3 miles) and join the workouts alongside you. My other hobbies are baking and decorating cakes, reading (crime), meeting friends and relaxing.

I believe that we can all be active, in some way, and that people who don't make time to be active will surely have to make time for illness.

My aim is to help as many of you as possible understand your conditions and improve them.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
